STRAITS AREA AUDUBON SOCIETY invites the public on Wednesday Mar. 11 at 6 p.m. to a free program on owls at the Cheboygan Area Public Library. “Owls of the North Woods” by environmental educator Mary Trout describes the unique adaptations of owls for their predatory lifestyle. Participants will learn about the ten species of owls that live here and will view owl feathers, food pellets, and other items from the Owl Discovery Box of Little Traverse Conservancy. Mackinac Straits Raptor Watch will announce its owl study program this spring in Cheboygan County, offering dates for people to learn first-hand about the research. After the program and refreshments, field trips and recent nature sightings will be shared. Visitwww.straitsareaaudubon.org to see the March 2015 SAAS newsletter.
